A local collector of John’s work saw him at his studio, working on a sculpture of a horseshoe crab. The collector commissioned John to make a larger version of the same design in a different choice of wood. Now the large horseshoe crab is proudly displayed in the collector’s family room.
While redesigning their first floor living space, a collector had a lighted niche built into their entryway. They commissioned John to create a sailboat sculpture that greets all the visitors to their new foyer. The homeowner cherishes this gorgeous accent piece.
One of John’s close friends loves sunflowers and has their home decorated in rich Autumnal colors. She commissioned John to paint her dining room table, transforming it from a heavy, darkly stained wood finish into a Van Gogh-style painting with sunflowers, in colors complementing her decor. The painted table brightens the room and brings light to the area.
Several people have asked John to make lawn sculptures from reclaimed driftwood after seeing the beautiful examples of horses and deer in other collectors’ yards.
